(Actually to be fair I don't do most of the grilling. My better half does;) And he is SO good at it! Yummm!
I have a nopales plant (cactus) in my backyard but I never thought of grilling them - it sounds really good. I would like to know if there are any specific instructions other than taking the spines off. Coat them with anything? How fast do they cook?
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I am not the Nopale-grilling expert. But I believe all you have to do is take off the spines, and wash them. They can cook for about as long as you'd grill other veggies, maybe longer if the leaves you are using seem extra thick or tough. You can grill them plain, or with olive oil, or a little Italian dressing.
ReplyDeleteAlso they don't keep well, (they get really slimy) so only make as many as you want to eat right away.
I'll let you know if I come across any other tips;)
